Scenarios and Solutions

Automation of Repetitive Online Tasks

Jane's law firm has to file a financial report quarterly with her auditing firm.  Her financial data is stored in spreadsheets, and her auditing firm only accepts the data with a web based form.  Every quarter she has to spend two or three days manually entering the data from the spreadsheets into the online form.  BCS was able to write a custom application that lets her import the spreadsheet once, and automatically fills out the forms for her, saving her several days worth of work every quarter.

One Click Social Network Publishing

Tim's PR firm regularly posts to Twitter, Facebook, and other social network sites to get the word out about his clients' latest products, news, etc.  But he's been spending more and more time posting the same or similar things to multiple social networks.  He wishes he could just post once and have that post go to all the different social networks he works with, without needing to worry about the different requirements of each social network (Twitter's 140 character limit, etc).  BCS created an easy to use application that lets Tim enter his post, and with the click of a mouse, post it to multiple social networks.

Data Conversion

Bob's accounting department has a problem.  Every week they get an email containing reports in a tab-delimited format.  They need to import the data into their system using an XML format.  BCS set up an application which receives the email, processes the data, and exports it to a folder which their system monitors for new files.

Automated Phone and Email Notification System

Bill has a 6-person dental practice.  Collectively, they spend about 6 hours each day on the phone reminding patients about their upcoming appointments.  The practice has been growing, and the prospect of spending more money on staff to just make phone calls is something Bill would like to avoid.  He wonders if there is a technological solution to this problem.  Luckily, Blue Campaign Solutions is there.  At a meeting with BCS, Bill explains his needs:

BCS created a new notification system that met all his requirements, and integrated with his current system.  Now Bill's clients get notified via their preferred method, his billing system is updated automatically, and Bill's employees are freed up from reminding clients of their upcoming appointments.

Automated Phone Questionnaire

John is responsible for doing a phone-based customer service survey.  With thousands of customers to contact, he realizes that's going to be a lot of phone calls and staff.  What if he could automate the process, and do a "Push 1 for yes, 2 for no" setup instead.  Then live callers could follow-up with the people who were missed or didn't respond.  At a meeting with BCS, John lays out his priorities:

BCS delivered the system on time and on budget.  The high response rate meant that John’s staff spent less time on the phone and more time interpreting the data
provided in the reports.  John’s staff is happier, and his superiors are impressed.

Website Scraping

Ted has been asked to build and maintain a list of government contracts.  The data is available via a website, and is updated every week.  Ted has been visiting the website and copying/pasting hundreds of rows of data into an Excel spreadsheet.  This work doesn't make Ted very happy, since he's sure there is a better way to handle the collection of this data.

BCS built an application for Ted that collects all of the relevant data automatically, then puts it into a database, where it can be reviewed, manipulated and even exported at any time.  The application is available 24/7, and from any computer that has a web-browser.  This saves Ted time and money, improving Ted's company's bottom line.
